What Makes Walterboro Great

When not offering professional care, Dr. Estes and the rest of our staff at Innovative Endodontics love to take in the local events and venues. The best of Walterboro include the Colleton County Historical and Preservation Society, the Colleton Museum and Farmers Market, and the Walterboro Wildlife Sanctuary. Find out more about what makes these such great spots to check out.

Colleton County Historical and Preservation Society

The Colleton County Historical and Preservation Society is a great way for locals to engage in preserving the history of the Walterboro area. The organization hosts several fundraising events throughout the year to help support its cause of maintaining local historical landmarks.

Additionally, you can rent out the headquarters of the CCHaPS at the historic Bedon-Lucas House for weddings, concerts, showers, and other events. These rentals raise funds for the preservation society and give you the unique opportunity to have your special occasions in a historical setting.

Colleton Museum and Farmers Market

The Colleton Museum and Farmers Market is an unusual attraction that you must visit at least once. This site features a museum dedicated to the history of Colleton County. However, it also features space for a seasonal farmers' market twice a week. You can also enjoy the Marketplace Café, gift shop, and an outdoor green space that many people rent for their special events.

The exhibits at the museum portion of this venue cover the long history of South Carolina, including The Revolutionary and Civil Wars, Colleton life, the ACE Basin, life during the plantation era, and Varn’s General Store. You will also find a children’s play area for your little ones.

Whether you want to get seasonal produce from local farmers or learn more about Walterboro history, check out the Colleton Museum and Farmers Market for an unusual combination of attractions under one roof.

Walterboro Wildlife Sanctuary

The Walterboro Wildlife Sanctuary is a large site designed to preserve the natural habitat of the estuary within the ACE Basin. In fact, it is the largest such preserve on the East Coast, covering more than 600 acres of natural bottomland.

Visit for your chance to see the only braided creek swamp accessible to the public. Hiking and biking trails allow you to explore the area on foot, while canoe launches let you see the sanctuary from the water.

Innovative Endodontics: Changing How Our Patients See Root Canals

Our team at Innovative Endodontics dedicate themselves to changing how each patient views root canals and endodontic care. Just like the Colleton Museum helps educate people about the county’s past, Dr. Estes and our team members work to teach our patients about the necessity of endodontic care and that it does not have to be painful.
